Troubleshooting

MOBILE AUDITOR PC

Problem Solution

Can't distinguish the difference between the selected and non-selected answers.

You need to adjust the contrast of the button colors. Mobile Auditor PC uses the system color defined for Tool Tips to indicate the selected answer choice.

If you're not sure how to change the Tool Tip color, see "Changing the button contrast on your computer" for instructions.

The required audit form doesn't appear in the list on the Forms page of the Wizard.

First, connect to the server and update your files to make sure that all of the necessary data has been downloaded to your computer.

If you're certain that the form has already been downloaded to your system, try the following:

  1. Go back to the Location page of the Wizard.
  2. Instead of using the FIND buttons to populate the fields, enter the Location ID and the Location Name manually, then DO NOT click the FIND icon.
  3. Instead, once you've entered the data, just click the NEXT button to advance to the Audit Forms page of the wizard.

ALL of the audit forms on your system should now appear in the list.

WARNING: You must enter the Location ID and Name exactly as it appears in the RizePoint database. Otherwise, when you upload the audit results, they may be held in the RizePoint Data Engine. However, once the audit results have been uploaded, an administrator can manually correct the error. Using this method as a "work around" allows you to proceed with the audit when you might otherwise not be able to.

"Authentication failed" error when trying to connect to the server.

There are several possible conditions that may cause you to get this error message:

  1. Check your Internet connection. If you are not properly connected to the Internet, you will get an "Authentication failed" error message.
  2. Check to make sure you entered your username and password correctly. Remember, your password is case-sensitive.
  3. The proper version of the Microsoft .NET framework may not have been installed on your computer. Mobile Auditor PC requires version 1.1.
  4. You may not be using the correct URL. Check with your organization's IT personnel to determine if the URL you're using is correct.
  5. Your network may be using a proxy server. Check with your organization's IT department. See also: Using a Proxy Server.
