Policies and Waivers

OPTIONAL FEATURE - Contact your RizePoint representative to enable/disable this option.

This option is used by organizations that require strict adherence to a specified set of standards, yet also provides a means for waiving compliance to a policy when necessary.

A policy is basically a collection of individual standards which must be adhered to. Policy libraries, composed of individual standards, can be created and maintained for different regions or locations within your organizational hierarchy. A robust waiver management system is also included, which lets you define a workflow process and automatic notifications for approving new waivers or reviewing expired waivers.

For example, perhaps your organization has a policy that requires the hotel dining rooms to serve water to all guests when they are first seated. However, the locality in which a hotel resides may have an ordinance in place that prohibits serving water unless the guest specifically requests it. In this case, the hotel could request a waiver on the policy.

Once requested, the waiver moves through a predefined workflow process, which places it in various queues along the way, and notifies those responsible for approval that a waiver request is awaiting their attention. An escalation queue is also available, which prevents a waiver from being ignored. If a person responsible for reviewing a waiver does not do so within a predetermined amount of time, then the workflow is interrupted and the waiver is immediately sent to someone else's attention.

Here's a brief overview of how this system works:

The documentation is divided into the following sections:

Some Waiver Reports have been provided to assist you in monitoring and managing waiver requests.
