The Connect to Server option allows you to upload audit results, update your particular version of Mobile Auditor PC with the latest audit instruments and application updates, and download results from previous audits.
Prior to conducting an audit, you must first connect to the server and update your files. Before attempting to connect to the server, make sure you have access to the internet through a network or a dial-up modem.
Selecting the CONNECT TO SERVER option displays the Connect to Server dialog. This dialog contains the following fields:
NOTE: The server URL is only entered into the Address field the first time the application is run. Once entered, that URL automatically appears in this field whenever you log on, and it may not be edited. If you need to change this address for some reason, you'll need to delete the existing configuration file:
After successfully logging in, any audit results waiting to be uploaded to the server are uploaded automatically. (If a second dialog opens, please see note below.*) The server is then queried to determine if any files are waiting to be downloaded to your PC. If files are waiting, a dialog displays the number of items to be downloaded, and asks if you want to download them at this time. Answering NO returns you to the Mobile Auditor PC home screen. Answering YES downloads the files.
When all files have successfully been downloaded, the application closes and then restarts automatically. Please be patient...It takes a few moments to restart the application.
*NOTE: If your application has been configured with the Extended Transfer option enabled, audit results are not automatically uploaded. Instead, a second dialog containing these fields appears:
